This Privacy Policy describes how QState Cyber Security Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our SafePublicWiFi™ mobile application (the “App”) and related services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with transparency and care.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
We collect various types of information to provide and improve the App and services.
Account Data: When you create an account, we collect your email address and username. Your password is securely hashed and stored; we do not store plain-text passwords.
Contact Form Data: When you contact us via the App or admin panel, we collect your name, email address, and message content.
Hotspot Data (Administrators only): If you are an authorized administrator using our admin panel, you may submit details about Wi-Fi hotspots, including SSID, location name, address, security level, and verification status.
Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device’s GPS or network-based location to help display verified hotspots nearby. This is processed in real-time and not persistently stored in a way that links back to your identity. If you submit a hotspot, the coordinates are saved with the submission.
Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage metrics such as screens viewed and features interacted with to better understand behavior and improve the App.
Device Information: We collect technical information about the device you use to access the App, such as device model, operating system, and mobile network.
Google Maps Platform: We use Google Maps services (including Google Places API) to provide map and location functionality. Use of these services is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.
We use collected information to:
Operate and maintain the App
Display nearby Wi-Fi hotspots based on your location
Authenticate and secure your account
Respond to inquiries and send system-related emails (e.g., password reset)
Improve and develop features through analytics
Manage and verify hotspot data submitted by administrators
Support the issuance of digital certification and trust seals for verified hotspots
We may share your data in the following scenarios:
With Service Providers: Such as hosting, database, analytics, or email services (e.g., AWS, SendGrid, Google Maps). These providers must protect your data and use it only as instructed.
With Your Consent: If you explicitly approve sharing your data for a specific purpose.
For Legal Reasons: If required by law or valid legal process, or to protect our rights or user safety.
Business Transfers: If QState Cyber Security Inc. undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred accordingly.
Anonymized Data: Aggregated or anonymized data may be used for research, insights, or marketing that cannot identify you.
Public Hotspot Data: Hotspot information submitted by admins (e.g., location, SSID, security level, verification status) is publicly available through the App.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. While we do our best, no system is entirely immune to threats.
We retain your information only as long as needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law.
When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it. If immediate deletion is not possible (e.g., data is in backups), we securely store it and restrict further processing until deletion can occur.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may:
Access or Correct Your Data: You can request to access or update your personal information.
Delete Your Account: You may request full account deletion by contacting us.
Control Location Access: You can enable/disable GPS in your device settings. Disabling it may affect the App’s ability to locate nearby hotspots.
Unsubscribe from Communications: You can opt out of system or promotional emails via unsubscribe links or by contacting us.
The App may include links to external websites or services not operated by us. We are not responsible for their content, practices, or privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies before engaging with them.
The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, please contact us so we can remove it promptly.
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after such updates constitutes acceptance of the changes.
